Acting headshots & Business Portraits how to stand out
Your headshot is often the first impression people have of you, so it's important that it makes a strong and positive impact. But with so many headshots out there, how can you make sure that yours stands out whether it’s an acting headshot or a corporate portrait?
Here are a few tips:
1.Wear something that flatters you.
Your headshot should be professional and appropriate for your field, but it should also be flattering to your individual style. Avoid anything too flashy or distracting. Solids and neutrals works best. Fitted and tailored are great. Of course always cleaned and pressed.
2. Smile!
A genuine smile is one of the most powerful tools you have to make a good first impression. But don't force it - a forced smile will look fake.
3. Look directly into the camera.
Eye contact is important for making a connection with the viewer. So make sure you're looking directly into the camera, not off to the side.
4. Pay attention to the background.
The background of your headshot should be simple and compliment your style. You don't want anything to distract from your face.
5. Get feedback.
Once you have your headshot, show it to friends, family, and colleagues for feedback. Get their honest opinion on what works and what doesn't.
